Having recently graduated from Grand Valley State University as a Human Resource Management major, Ella T. is enjoying her time with Blue Chip Talent as a Jr. Talent Acquisition Specialist. So far from her 2.5 months with the company, she identifies volunteering with Miracle League of Michigan to be her favorite BCT memory. After engaging with disabled children and serving as one of their “buddies” on the baseball field, Ella was grateful for the opportunity to help others out while bonding with the Blue Chip team.

To stay motivated, Ella places emphasis on setting personal goals and reminding herself of these goals on a daily basis. She is also largely inspired by her older sister, who is always pushing herself to go above and beyond and to reach her fullest potential. Drawing from this mindset, Ella’s advice as a woman in business is to have the courage to step out of your comfort zone. “You are your biggest competitor. Don’t compare yourself to others but strive to be the best you can be.”

Ultimately, the greatest lesson Ella has learned from her career path is this: “Seek to understand before you seek to be understood.” Applicable to life both within and outside of the office, this approach is crucial to establishing genuine relationships—and we are very excited that Ella is implementing such an attitude to help our company succeed.
